The city of Toronto launched it's third pothole repair blitz this year over the weekend, following a brutal winter that has left tons scattered across the city. As Benedict reports, while the budget for road repairs has gone up, potholes aren't being filled as fast as in years past.

Vancouver councillor and mayoral candidate Pete Fry is calling for a dedicated festival support fund to ensure many of the city's public events can continue. Global's Taya Fast says the push comes as organizers face rising costs, fewer sponsors and less support from senior levels of government.
