US-Iran war: Trump demands other countries help protect Strait of Hormuz
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday his administration is talking to seven countries about helping to secure the Strait of Hormuz amid the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran, calling on them to help protect ships in the vital waterway that Tehran has mostly blocked to oil tanker traffic. "I’m demanding that these countries come in and protect their own territory because it is their territory," Trump told reporters, adding "It’s the place from which they get their energy." But U.K. Prime Minister Kier Starmer said Monday they "weren't at a point of decisions yet," and German Foreign Minister Boris Pistorius said "I don't think we're very close to that, not at all... we can't be everywhere in every place supporting a war that we didn't start."
