As Chinese electric vehicles arrive in Canadian ports, a debate surrounding security has reopened. The first batch of almost 50,000 vehicles arrived in Vancouver Monday, and will be sold at a reduced tariff rate in exchange for lowered levies on Canadian canola and other products, all part of a trade deal Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney struck with China earlier this year.
