Katherine Ludwig is a digital journalist with Global Edmonton that you’ll see covering a variety of local and provincial stories.
After graduating from the broadcasting program at Niagara College in Ontario, she started her career as a radio reporter in Moose Jaw, Sask. in 2021.
A year later she moved her career to Regina and worked as a radio reporter and morning news anchor at 620CKRM. Not long afterwards she began her TV career with Global News Regina in 2023.
She covered provincial affairs in the Prairie province and backfill news and weather anchoring before joining the Global News team in Edmonton in 2025.
Katherine has covered a wide range of stories from national court cases like the case of Michael Gordon Jackson, major crime events like the mass stabbings on James Smith Cree Nation, provincial and municipal politics including live coverage of municipal, provincial and federal elections as well as some fun-loving stories at local festivals and exhibitions.
She’s also done a monthly feature series focused on Saskatchewan’s Government House and put out yearly feature interviews with Saskatchewan’s top politicians.
Katherine says her passion lies within the community and helping give people a platform for their voice.
When she’s not reporting on the latest news break, Katherine spends a lot of time at the gym, trying new coffee spots and pubs with friends, or at home watching horror movies and entertaining her two cats.
