The Toronto Catholic District School Board said as a result of direction from Toronto Public Health, Transfiguration of Our Lord Catholic School is being temporarily dismissed.
“I didn’t realize as I was getting to my feet, a train was coming into the station.”
Durham Region Health Department says they have confirmed one case of the Omicron variant from a close contact of a returning traveller from a country in southern Africa.
Toronto police said emergency crews were called to the area of Dundas and Church streets at 6:41 p.m. Wednesday.
“Fortunately, the victims in this incident did not suffer any physical injuries but this could have ended in tragedy.”
Officers were called to the area of Harmony Road North and Adelaide Avenue East at 12:38 p.m. Wednesday.
Police said the 36-year-old victim was struck and dragged by the train. He was treated in hospital for his injuries.
“Every day we hold off more cases entering our country, the more time we have to learn and prepare,” Premier Doug Ford said.
Police said they were called at 6:45 p.m. to a crash involving multiple vehicles and pedestrians on Riverside Drive west of Wonderland Road.
Investigators released images of suspects on Tuesday in relation to the alleged Sept. 19 incident in the hope that someone may be able to provide information.
