Rachel Morgan
National Online Journalist
Rachel Morgan is a National Online Journalist with Global News based in Toronto.
Before joining Global News in 2026, Morgan worked as a web editor at CityNews where she learned how to craft headlines, optimize SEO and become a stickler for photo aspect ratios.
She got her start as a reporter on the environment beat at a local Peel Region outlet. There she received numerous awards and recognition for her in-depth exposés on the Ontario government’s climate policies and investigations into backroom development dealings in Caledon.
While working as a journalist, Morgan is pursuing her MA in Communication and Culture where her research focuses on the ethics of digital news corrections.
Morgan graduated from Carleton University’s journalism program in 2021. While her entire last year was online due to the pandemic, she had the opportunity to intern at The Week magazine in the U.K. in 2019. She has also been featured in the Windsor Star, Ottawa Citizen and Canadian Geographic.
When she’s not reporting, Morgan is dedicating far too much time to marathon training.
