Maegen Kulchar anchors Global News Morning Kingston and has been a part of the news team since starting as a reporter in 2011.
She began her journalism journey volunteering with Rogers TV and Cogeco. She then went on to complete a 6 month internship with Fox 35 in Orlando, Florida.
As a morning show anchor, she brings the latest news, human interest stories and a touch of humor to countless viewers. It’s not just about reporting the headlines but creating a sense of community and connection with the audience.
She has interviewed hundreds of people, including the brother of Terry Fox (Fred), country singer-songwriter Brett Kissel, Olympian Brent Hayden, as well as personalities on the hit shows Rust Valley Restorers, Backyard Builds, and Island of Brian.
In 2023 the team at Global News Morning Kingston was nominated for a Corus Award.
Originally from Niagara-On-The Lake, Ont., Kulchar holds a bachrelor’s degree in Film Studies with a minor in Journalism from Carleton University and a diploma in Broadcasting – radio, television and film from Niagara College. In her spare time, she enjoys spending it with her young family and taking part in activities throughout the community.
