Alison MacKinnon
Digital Journalist
Growing up in a small town in Ontario, Alison loved to tell and act out stories for anyone who would listen. After travelling to Kenya in high school and watching the news coverage of the Haiti floods, she decided to move to Alberta.
After volunteering in a local broadcasting studio, Alison became interested in pursuing a career in news. She attended the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Calgary and studied Radio, Television and Broadcast News with a focus in Broadcast News.
After graduating in 2017, Alison became a Video Journalist for CTV Lethbridge. There she became involved with local outreach programs and found a love for covering stories about people who’s stories wouldn’t otherwise be told.
In 2018, Alison decided to leave the mountains behind to explore other opportunities in Winnipeg as a Digital Journalist with Global.
