Kristi Gordon
Senior Meteorologist

Kristi Gordon is the Senior Meteorologist for Global News Hour at 6, BC’s most-watched nightly newscast, Global News at 5 and Global News at 11.

During her more than 20-year career as a meteorologist, Kristi has worked across Canada forecasting and reporting on major weather events from destructive windstorms, to drought, deadly heat and wildfires, to catastrophic flooding.

Kristi is a leader and advocate for impact-based and climate related forecasting. She has become a trusted source for timely, accurate and essential information in B.C. over past decade as the region endured many devastating extreme climate related weather events.

Kristi has been a proud part of the award-winning Global News Hour at 6 team since 2011 which has received the Canadian Screen Award for Best Local Newscast in 2023, the British Columbia Association of Broadcasters award for Excellence in News Reporting on the BC Floods of 2021, and the Bert Cannings Award for Best Newscast for its coverage of Snow Mayhem across Vancouver 2017.

Kristi is also a two time Jack Webster Award winner for her contributions in both television and radio for Best Breaking News Reporting on the Wildfires: State of Emergency and the December Windstorm of 2018.

Born in BC, Kristi earned a Science Degree from the University of British Columbia with a double major in Physical Geography and Atmospheric Science.

A supporter and advocate for the Ronald McDonald House BC and Yukon, and a spokesperson for the PNE Prize Home Lottery, when she is not working, she enjoys getting outside and spending time with her family.

Kristi’s work also appears on weekdays on BC1 News and on radio on CKNW.
