Bindu Suri

Bindu Suri is the Co-Anchor at Global News at Noon on weekdays and is the weekday news Anchor on the Global TV app and Amazon Prime Video.

As an aspiring journalist from Medicine Hat, Bindu moved to Calgary to chase her dream of working in broadcast news and joined Global Calgary in 2007 as an Anchor and Reporter and helped launch Weekend Morning News at Global Calgary as co-anchor.

A graduate of the University of Alberta and SAIT, her career also includes working at TV stations in Brandon, Manitoba, Medicine Hat, Red Deer, and Calgary.

Bindu has reported on local stories and has travelled on-location to cover extreme weather events including destructive tornadoes, avalanches, and devastating floods in Southern Alberta. She has also been part of several live events over the noon hour, including an hour-long live broadcast of the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and delivering live press conferences on the evolving COVID-19 pandemic.

Bindu uses her platform to support community events that promote diversity and inclusion. She has represented Global Calgary at community events such as GlobalFest, the Seva Gala for the Alberta Children’s Hospital and the 24th Annual Immigrants of Distinction Awards. She also had the opportunity to host the 2022 Economic Outlook, a signature event that brings together business, government, and community leaders from across Alberta.

When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids camping, biking, and swimming.
