Bindu Suri
Anchor
Bindu Suri co-anchors Global News Morning on weekdays and is the weekday news anchor on the Global TV app and Amazon Prime Video.
A graduate of the University of Alberta and SAIT, she began her broadcasting career at TV stations in Brandon, Manitoba, Medicine Hat, and Red Deer before joining Global Calgary in 2007.
Early in her career in Calgary, Bindu spent time reporting on-location covering extreme weather events from destructive tornadoes to avalanches and catastrophic flooding in Southern Alberta. She then helped launch Weekend Morning News at Global Calgary as co-anchor.
As co-anchor, she has been part of several live events, including the live broadcast of the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and delivering live press conferences on the evolving COVID-19 pandemic that changed 2020 for everyone around the world. The pandemic has highlighted the need for accurate and timely news.
Bindu uses her platform to help promote community events that encourage diversity and inclusion. She has represented Global Calgary at community events such as GlobalFest, the Seva Gala for the Alberta Children’s Hospital, 24th Annual Immigrants of Distinction Awards, and most recently, she hosted the 2022 Economic Outlook, a signature event that brings together business, government and community leaders from across Alberta.
When she is not working, Bindu enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids camping, biking and swimming.
