Canada is stepping up with urgent aid to Nepal after catastrophic floods ripped through the region Wednesday. The federal government is providing $5 million to organizations like the Red Cross to deliver life saving support. Thirty-two Canadian citizens and permanent residents are unaccounted for. At least 579 bodies have been recovered so far, but no Canadians were among those found dead. Redmond Shannon reports. Global Affairs Canada says it has deployed five consular officials to Nepal to support Canadians and work with local officials on the ground. It’s an overwhelming situation on ground that’s also difficult to deal with from afar. Many Canadians are struggling to reach their loved ones. Nathaniel Dove reports on the search for answers.
