In July 2019, police charged Joseph Trieu, 26, of Calgary, with one count of accessory after the fact and Granado with first-degree murder – but Granado remains on the loose.

“We believe he was in the Greater Toronto Area in the fall of 2022. Since then we don’t know where he is but due to his criminal associations, we believe he could be in Alberta or B.C.,” said Calgary Police Service Staff Sgt. Martin Schiavetta.

Schiavetta added that the CPS is looking for any information that can lead to an arrest.

“Our message to Mr. Granado — you can’t hide forever. It’s been seven years since the murder, have your day in court, call a lawyer and turn yourself in.”

Toronto Police Service wants the public to be on the lookout for Jabreel Elmi.

The victim was identified as 27-year-old Thane Murray, a City of Toronto worker who worked at Regent Park Community Centre.

Three months after the shooting, on Dec. 14, police identified three suspects wanted for the shooting. Two of them were found and arrested that same day, however, Elmi is still outstanding.

“We are well aware of the history of violence behind him,” Staff Sgt. Sean Gregson, with the Calgary Police Service, said.

“It was a blatant disregard for the public safety, driving down the road shooting at another vehicle, and at 157 kilometres an hour, hits a mom of five and kills her in an intersection.”

Canada-wide warrants were issued for Amer and now police believe individuals may be helping the 29-year-old evade police.

“We know he has ties to Calgary and ties to (the) lower mainland. He may have tried to leave Calgary to avoid apprehension so we are covering off all avenues in looking for him,” Gregson said.

Number seven on the list is Darriel Thompson, a 21-year-old man from Mississauga, who is wanted on two counts of second-degree murder and attempted murder.

This is in connection with a double-fatal shooting in Etobicoke in early January.

The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia (CFSEU-BC) said Gene Karl Lahrkamp died in the plane crash in northwestern Ontario on April 30.

Lahrkamp was wanted in connection with the death of a former Abbotsford gangster, Jimi Sandhu, 32, whose body was found near a villa in Rawai Beach, Muang district of Phuket, Thailand in February according to Crime Stoppers.

In Canada, Sandhu was known for his involvement with the “UN” Gang, one of the groups involved in a violent ongoing conflict in the Lower Mainland, according to Crime Stoppers. He was deported back to India in 2016 for “serious criminality.”

The Royal Thai Police investigation determined that Sandhu was deliberately targeted by two Canadian gunmen who flew back to Canada in the days following the slaying.

CFSEU-BC and its partners were unable to locate Lahrkamp, leading CFSEU-BC to partner with the BOLO Program and in April Lahrkamp was identified as No. 2 on its top 25 list.
