“I live in the plaza and I heard the first loud bang and a lot of skidding and then I looked out the window and I saw the gentleman on the bike,” said Colleen MacLeod, who lives nearby. “He was laying on the ground behind the car.”
It is believed that the motorcyclist was travelling southbound on Scarlett Road and the car was travelling northbound and turning into a plaza when the crash occurred, police said.
“It was a huge sound and I thought it had to be two big cars, maybe even trucks,” said Armand Hamouth, who also lives in the area.
Alcohol and speed are currently not believed to be factors in the collision.
The driver of the car remained on scene and was not injured.
A third vehicle remained on scene after it was hit by debris from the collision, police said.
Roads are closed in the area as police investigate.
