2 killed in separate motorcycle crashes in Nova Scotia

Two motorcycle riders were killed in separate crashes in Nova Scotia on Sunday.

RCMP were called to a crash on Hwy 103 in East River at around 5:15 p.m. According to police, the motorcycle driver lost control and struck a guardrail.

The driver, a 63-year-old man from Halifax, was pronounced dead at the scene. The section of highway was closed for a number of hours as police investigated.

As well, a crash involving a car and a motorcycle in Seabright, N.S. claimed the life of a 43-year-old man.

Halifax District RCMP, paramedics and firefighters were called to the crash on Peggy’s Cove Road at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The motorcycle driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car was treated by EHS for minor injuries.

The section of road was closed for several hours as a collision reconstructionist investigated.
