This riding will be one to watch as it will have NDP incumbent Marlin Schimidt facing off against United Conservative Party candidate David Dorward once again.
It will be the third time the two men will compete for the riding. In 2015, Schmidt defeated Dorward who held the Edmonton-Gold Bar seat for the Progressive Conservative party after defeating Schmidt in 2012.

History
Edmonton-Gold Bar was created in 1971 after a boundary redistribution from Strathcona East. The riding experienced changes during the 2010 boundary redistribution.
