Erik Bay
Digital Journalist
Erik Bay joined Global Edmonton as a digital journalist in April 2024.
Born and raised in Athabasca, Erik moved to Edmonton in 2017 to attend the Radio and Television Broadcast program at NAIT.
After graduating, Erik started as an intern at CITL CKSA in Lloydminster where soon after he was hired full time.
After two years working in Lloyd, Erik moved to Global Lethbridge in 2021, where one of his most notable stories was covering the Coutts border blockade and the aftermath, including Artur Pawlowski’s trial. He also did extensive coverage of the Western Hockey League’s Lethbridge Hurricanes.
In October 2023, Erik moved east to become a reporter for Global Saskatoon, before coming back to Alberta.
When he is not busy reporting, Erik enjoys hiking and fishing in the Canadian Rockies.
