Darya Zargar
Reporter
Darya Zargar is a multi-media journalist at Global BC.
She started her career, before graduating from the Broadcast and Online Journalism Diploma Program at BCIT in 2019. That summer, she joined Global BC Mornings as an overnight writer and is currently catching up on her sleep.
Darya’s first year in journalism consisted of covering stories on the COVID-19 pandemic, BC wildfires, the 2021 November floods and local stories on the Russian war in Ukraine.
Her favourite part about the job is sharing stories that make a difference. As well as having an excuse to always be curious.
Her goal is to bring more focus to voices and issues not generally covered.
She was born and raised in the Fraser Valley and initially, her interest was sparked by telling stories in a broadcast class in high school.
When not at work, Darya is often reading, taking a spin class and enjoying good food.
