Motorcyclist killed in crash near Radium Hot Springs, B.C.

A motorcyclist has died following a crash near Radium Hot Springs, B.C. on Tuesday afternoon.

Columbia Valley RCMP and emergency medical crews say they were called to a multi-vehicle crash along Highway 95 around 1 p.m.

A 48-year-old Calgary man was airlifted to hospital where he later died from his injuries.

RCMP said a jeep was headed south on Highway 95 when it stopped because of construction.

Officers said the jeep then made a left turn, cutting off the motorcyclist, who hit another vehicle.

The driver of the jeep and the other vehicle were uninjured in the crash.

The crash is under investigation and alcohol is not believed to be a factor.

According to Drive BC, Highway 95 was closed for a period of time before opening up a single lane of alternating traffic.
