Police say four cruisers were damaged after a driver allegedly fled from officers near Bracebridge.
According to Bracebridge OPP, on Friday, just before 2 p.m., officers assisted a motorist on Highway 11, south of Bracebridge.
Officers say after a brief interaction, the driver fled in his vehicle.
Police say officers followed the vehicle as it exited onto Cedar Lane near Highway 117 and continued south, refusing to stop.
According to police, a spike belt was deployed and the vehicle was stopped before it entered a school zone.
Officers say as a result of the incident, four police cruisers sustained minor damage, however, no injuries were reported.
Police say 47-year-old Andrew Moore from Bracebridge has been charged with impaired operation with a blood alcohol content over 80 milligrams, flight from police, dangerous operation and resisting arrest.
Officers say the man’s licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was towed and impounded.
Moore is scheduled to appear in court in Bracebridge on March 12.
