Man in hospital after what Coquitlam RCMP believe was a targeted shooting

A man is recovering in hospital from a gunshot wound after a shooting Tuesday night, which police believe was targeted.

Police arrived at the scene on Foster Ave. and Aspen Street around 11:20 p.m. after reports of shots fired.

Witnesses at the scene said they heard a series of gunshots and saw two cars speed away.

Shortly after, a 21-year-old man from Richmond checked himself into a hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound, according to police.

Coquitlam RCMP investigators continue to look for suspects and are reaching out to the public for anyone who may have seen or heard something in the area.
