It was a very unusual event when a school bus crashed in Kelowna.
The rear axle and tires of the bus fell off Tuesday morning on Hollywood Road South.
The bus slid to a stop sideways across the road.
The axle assembly struck a fence.
There were no students on board and the driver appears to be uninjured.
Ministry of Transportation safety inspectors are investigating.

The vehicle is owned by A1 Bus Ltd.
Company spokesperson, Trevor Cairns, says the bus was mechanically inspected on November 2nd and passed inspection.
The company does not transport students for School District 23.
It provides services for independent schools.
