Matthew Foerster, the man who murdered an Armstrong teen on Halloween 2011, was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 17 years. Seventeen years is what both Crown and defence recommended to the judge. However, as Megan Turcato explains, Foerster could apply for parole in 2029, 11 years from now.
