Global News is projecting that Conservative candidate Tracy Gray has been re-elected in the riding of Kelowna-Lake Country.
A former city councillor in Kelowna, Gray was first elected to Parliament in 2019.
With 226 of 233 polls reporting as of 11 p.m. PT, Gray had 45.7 per cent of the vote.
Tim Krupa of the Liberals was second at 26.0 per cent, with Cade Desjarlais of the NDP in third at 18.0 per cent.
Kelowna–Lake Country is a traditional Conservative seat that the BC Liberals won in 2015, only to lose it again in 2019.
In 2015, Stephen Fuhr knocked off three-time Conservative incumbent Ron Cannan in what was considered a major upset.
He was the first Liberal to represent Kelowna since 1972 and the first to represent the party in B.C.’s Interior since 1979.
But four years later, Gray took the seat back with nearly 9,000 votes in 2019.
