Toronto police say a man is dead after a shooting in the area of Jane Street and Falstaff Avenue on Sunday evening.
Emergency crews were called to the area around 9 p.m.
Police said a man was attempting to drive his car into the garage of an apartment building in the area when he was shot at numerous times.
After being shot, the vehicle rolled and hit the underground garage doors which were closed, police said.
Investigators said officers found the victim unresponsive in the driver’s seat. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The victim was identified as 20-year-old Hashim Omar Hashi, a Toronto resident.
The homicide unit has taken over the investigation. This is Toronto’s fifth homicide of the year.
