Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has claimed that his older brother and the band’s key songwriter, Noel Gallager, has threatened to take legal action against him.
The 46-year-old singer revealed the latest in the longstanding Gallagher feud via Twitter over the weekend.
After teasing As it Was — an upcoming documentary based upon his solo career — Gallagher claimed he would “be sued” by the older brother and his management company if the film contained any footage of Oasis songs.
“I’ve just been informed that I’ll be sued by the not-so-mighty little fella and his goons at Ignition if I use any footage of me singing Oasis,” he wrote.
“Yes, Oasis songs, in As it Was,” the Wonderwall singer confirmed to fans.
“Who’s bitter now, eh? D’ya want a hand selling those tickets?” he rhetorically asked, referring to the elder Gallagher’s recently-announced solo U.K. tour.

According to the singer, the Charlie Lightening-directed film captures a number of his biggest performances over the last two years, including his appearance at Ariana Grande‘s ‘One Love Manchester’ benefit concert, which followed the events of the tragic Manchester bombings in May of 2017.
Gallagher appeared alongside Coldplay‘s Chris Martin to perform Oasis fan favourite Live Forever and Rock n’ Roll Star.

Although As it Was never had an official release date, fans are speculating that its release will be pushed back following the recent drama, as Gallagher’s solo sets typically consist of half Oasis material and half solo material.
If the alleged lawsuit is true, this may have rendered a majority of Lightening’s footage useless

Gallagher followed up only hours later to update his fans regarding the alleged legal action.
“So it’s the footage of me singing Live Forever at the ‘One Love’ concert that’s upset team NG [Noel Gallagher],” he confirmed.
“Maybe it’s the shame of the not-so-mighty little fella not showing up because he was too busy supping bubbles on a dingy” he added, referring to his brother’s absence at the national get-together.
Gallagher previously chastised his brother for missing the benefit concert in 2017. “Manchester, I’d like to apologize for my brothers absence last night,” he wrote.
He followed up shortly after with another jab.
“Noel’s out of the f**king country? Weren’t we all, love,” he wrote sarcastically. “Get on a f**king plane and play your tunes for the kids, you sad f**k.”

The song was performed by Grande and Martin as a duet during the concert.

“Never mind you seeing it, that’s like looking in the f**king mirror. When do we get to see it?” wrote one user. “Soon, ya loon,” Gallagher replied.
Paul Arthurs (best known as Bonehead), Oasis’ former lead guitarist, even reached out to the singer, suggesting that he may join Gallagher again on the stage in the near future.
“You gonna sing Columbia?” asked another fan. “Yes I am,” he replied.
Gallagher continued Oasis under a different name without his brother. Beady Eye broke up in 2014 after receiving very little acclaim.
He took a break from the spotlight and came back to release his debut solo album, As You Were, in 2011. Since then, Gallagher has toured the world with much success. He’s currently working on a follow-up to the critically-acclaimed record.

Only a year after Oasis’ disbandment, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Band was formed. 2011 marked the release of the band’s self-titled debut album. More recently, the group put out its third album, Who Built the Moon? (2017).
An Oasis reunion seems to be looking less and less likely by the year for longtime fans.
