Halton Regional Police say one person is dead and two are injured after a car veered off the roadway in Burlington Saturday morning.
Officers said the vehicle was travelling along Fairview Road between Woodview Road and Commerce court around 10 a.m. before losing control.
A police spokesperson told Global News the car struck a pedestrian and then crashed into former restaurant, Chaps, striking a woman outside the facility before colliding into the patio.
A 58-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. A 19-year-old man was airlifted by ORNGE in life-threatening condition to Hamilton General Hospital.

The spokesperson said he suffered a serious leg injury that required an amputation below the knee.
Officers said the driver, a 73-year-old man, was taken by ambulance to hospital in life-threatening condition but has since stabilized. They believe he may have been suffering some sort of medical episode at the time of the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
