Nova Scotia’s Department of Labour is leading an investigation after a body was discovered under the MacKay Bridge on Monday.
Police say they responded to the area of Africville Road at approximately 9:50 a.m., to a report of a body.

The man’s body was recovered from the water with the assistance of Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency before being turned over to the province’s Medical Examiner Service.

Police say that due to the circumstances, the investigation has been turned over to the Department of Labour as they determine if the death was the result of a workplace incident.
