Halifax police find evidence of shooting off Gottingen Street

Halifax Regional Police now say they’ve found evidence there was a shooting on Tuesday night.

Patrol officers heard what they believed were several gunshots in the area of Uniacke Street at 10:46 p.m. on July 3.

Additional police units responded but they could not find any evidence of a shooting.

The next day, investigators were able to identify the location where the shooting had taken place.

Police say patrol members searched an area in the 5000-block of Heron Walk off Gottingen Street and found two homes that were damaged with bullet holes.

They say they’ve spoken to the residents of the homes and confirmed nobody was injured.

The General Investigation Section continues to investigate the incident and is asking anyone with information to contact police at 902-490-5016 or submit a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
