WINNIPEG – The American Hockey League announced Manitoba Moose bench boss Pascal Vincent as their most outstanding coach for the 2017-18 season on Monday. Vincent was voted the winner of the Louis A.R. Pieri Memorial Award.
Vincent, 46, helped guide the Moose to a 20 point improvement this season with three games still remaining in the regular season. The Moose finished seventh in the central division last season and a year later are still contending for the division title.
The Moose, who clinched a playoff spot this past weekend, are among the top five teams in the league in both goals for and goals against. They also own the second best ranked powerplay in the AHL.

Vincent is in his second season behind the Moose bench after serving as an assistant coach with the Winnipeg Jets for five seasons.

Scott Arniel is the only other Moose coach to win the AHL coach of the year award. He was named the top coach in 2009.
The award is voted on by coaches and the media in each of the league’s 30 cities.
