VIDEO: Disney on Ice’s Frozen skates into Winnipeg

Disney on Ice is performing their smash hit Frozen in Winnipeg for the very first time.

The show runs once on Friday evening, and then three times each on Saturday and Sunday at Bell MTS Place.

Frozen is performed around 250 times a year around the world, and Sunday’s final show in Winnipeg will mark the 1,500th performance on ice.

But for the 41 skaters and 17 behind-the-scenes crew that put on Frozen, it never gets old.

“It’s never the same show, it’s always something a little different,” ensemble skater Kate Gibson said.  “The audience is never the same, so we want to put on the best show for every audience we have.”

For Jackson Stevens, who’s been with Frozen since it started and is in his seventh year with Disney on Ice, hearing the show’s smash hit “Let it Go” more than a thousand times has never bothered him anyway.

“In Frozen’s first year, we did 434 shows,” Stevens said.

“Frozen has such a great soundtrack, it never gets old.”
