Police are investigating after a male was shot in the west Edmonton neighbourhood of La Perle Wednesday evening.

They said officers were called to the area of 189 Street and 96 Avenue.

According to police, a male was shot twice following an “incident” involving two males in La Perle Park. They said the shooting was not believed to be random and did not say if any arrests were made.

“One subject has sustained two gunshot wounds to both legs,” Acting Insp. Doug Fedechko said.

“We believe these individuals know one another. They are not associated to this neighbourhood.”

Police did not say whether the injured male was taken to hospital or what condition he was in.

They also did not say if the two males involved were adults.
