Glock, rifles and ammunition seized from home in northeast Edmonton

After executing a search warrant on a home near 149 Avenue and 76 Street, Edmonton police seized a number of firearms, including a loaded 9mm Glock.

The EPS northeast division, tactical unit and the Drug and Gang Enforcement (EDGE) unit were part of the bust.

On the evening of Wednesday, Oct. 26, police seized the Glock, two SKS rifles, a .22 calibre rifle, a magazine, ammunition, 6.8 grams of psilocybin mushrooms and drug paraphernalia.

Andras Kantona, 41, was charged with:

  • Four counts of possession of a firearm knowing possession is unauthorized;
  • Careless use of a firearm;
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device or ammunition;
  • Possession knowing serial number is altered, defaced or removed;
  • Possession of a controlled substance.

Police continue to investigate.
