A Sherwood Park man has been charged with multiple offences in connection with a “significant” seizure of stolen guns from a rural home east of Edmonton.

RCMP say officers executed a search warrant at the Strathcona County Home on Dec., 2. They say a total of 37 stolen guns were recovered along with a stolen skidoo and a stolen utility trailer.

Mounties say they also found illicit street street drugs in the home: cocaine, methamphetamine, and marijuana.

In a release, the superintendent of the Strathcona County RCMP said it was a “significant seizure” for police.

“Recovering the firearms before they could potentially be sold or used illegally will go a long way in ensuring the safety of our community,” said Gary Peck.

Police say a number of the guns were reported stolen from a break and enter to Don’s Gunsmith north of Rocky Mountain House on Oct. 27. Another gun was reported stolen from a break and enter to a home near Redwater in 2009.
