Toronto Waterfront Marathon road closures, TTC diversions in effect this weekend

The Toronto Waterfront Marathon is returning to the city Sunday and there will be several road closures to accommodate the annual event.

The 5K run and walk starts at 8 a.m. while the marathon and half-marathon will begin at 8:45 a.m.

Bay Street will be closed between Queen Street West and Dundas Street West from Saturday at 11 a.m. to Sunday at 8 p.m.

Multiple race-related road closures in an area roughly bounded by Bloor Street West, Victoria Park Avenue, Lake Ontario and Windermere Avenue will start Sunday at 4 a.m. and should last until 3:30 p.m., the City of Toronto said in a statement.

There will also be multiple TTC bus and streetcar diversions throughout Sunday as a result of the marathon.

If you’re travelling by subway, service on Line 1 is suspended between St. George and Lawrence West stations this weekend due to signal upgrades. Shuttle buses are operating.
