Longueuil beach (2495 de l’Île-Charron Street) has reopened after being closed Thursday to test for water quality issues.

Samples of sand from the beach, which is on l’Île Charron, near the Îles-de-Boucherville National Park, showed the water wasn’t safe to swim in.
Officials hypothesized heavy rain and large boats could be to blame.

Friday, the city received the tests results, showing the water quality was up to standard.
The Longueuil beach opened one month ago.
