Vancouver, B.C. resident Maddy Pavle was always an outsider on Big Brother Canada.

From the start, she bucked the “popular” thing to do and went against other houseguests, even those she’d made alliances with. Her only loyalty was to fellow houseguest Ramsey, who left the BBCAN Grand abruptly this week as his father underwent heart surgery.

Left alone, Pavle withdrew for a short while and then put forth one last-ditch effort to remain in the house, trying to sway everyone to vote for Tim, who was put up on the block next to her after Ramsey won the POV. Sadly, the push did not work, and Pavle was evicted by a vote of 5-0.

Global News spoke to Maddy about being evicted from the house, the houseguests’ blind love for Tim, and whether or not she could have won the entire game.

Global News: How shocked were you to be evicted?
Maddy Pavle:  I wasn’t that shocked, because I could feel it coming. I knew it was going to happen. I was more in shock that I wasn’t going to reach my goal of winning the game.

Do you think you could have gone all the way?
Yes, if I stayed this week and the week after, I stood a good chance of winning the whole thing.

Your strategy was in place?
Yeah. I was very confident.

What are your feelings about the eviction this week? It was very emotional.
It was very emotionally draining. I didn’t want to fight, I didn’t want to campaign, but I realized that I had to if I wanted to stay in the house. I tried my best, and it didn’t work.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

When you called that house meeting, were you sitting there with the script in your head, or was it free-form?
Well, I knew the points I wanted to state, and I got those points across. But then you have to free-form when people blurt stuff out and have questions. It was scripted, but not.

How awkward was it having Tim there?
I wanted to have Tim there so he could realize and see what I was trying to do. It was kind of annoying to have him blatantly deny everything… but you know how it is: everybody believes Tim!

Why do you believe that so strongly, that Tim is so well-loved?
People think Tim is the best thing since sliced bread, and that’s not going to change. He’s got some major social skills.

Who or what do you think is most responsible for your eviction, and why?
Collectively, the whole house was responsible for my eviction. As I’ve said before, these people are voting out of fear. Once one or two or three people are voting because they’re afraid, no one wants to stick their neck out, so they go with the crowd.

What was the hardest thing to deal with in the BBCAN house?
To realize that… “OK Maddy, this isn’t a friendship game. You’re not here to make friends.” I didn’t want to let people rub me the wrong way.

Was it hard not to take things personally?
Give or take, yeah. There were obviously things that hurt me, but I knew that some things were game. When it came down to mean and nasty comments, though, it was overboard for me. I can’t deal with that at home, or in the house with these people.

Any regrets?
Absolutely no regrets.

Any predictions on what’s going to happen and who’s going to take it all?
I have hope that Jared can take it all, because he was a respectful, honest and logical. At this point, I have no idea. Of all of those people left in the house, no one really played the game, so it’ll all come down to who wins the competitions.
