‘Big Brother Canada’ evicted houseguest Dallas: Maddy is why I was sent home – Apr 1, 2016

In this week’s eviction episode of Big Brother Canada, loud-talking Saint John, NB native Dallas Cormier was sent packing from the BBCAN Grand (interesting side note: he’s the first guy to be evicted).

Global News spoke to Cormier about getting evicted, if he has any regrets, and who he would be most shocked to see make it to the final two. Sad to see you go, Dally!

Global News: How shocked are you to be evicted?
Dallas Cormier: I’m not too shocked. When you’re on the block, you’re never safe. The houseguests can flip and flop at any given time. I thought I had a good campaign against Maddy, and I thought it was going to be a 4-4 split and come down to a tiebreaker for Tim. In the back of my mind, when Arisa said it was 3-5, I knew I’d fallen a little bit short. I’m a little disappointed.

Do you think you could have gone all the way?
If I was surrounded by the right people, if I had aligned with strong people, I absolutely think I could have. People who can compete in competitions, win HOHs back to back, people who were loyal…I think I would have had a good chance.

You made your alliance very quickly. Should you have waited?
Yeah, we jumped the gun on making an alliance. It favoured us to have Ramsey because he was a strong competitor, and Loveita was good because she won HOH twice. But I reconsidered when I realized I didn’t really know who these people were. I regret it on some level.

What are your thoughts on being evicted?
I feel like I had a lot of people supporting me, rooting for me. I’m a very competitive person; in my opinion, if you’re not first, you’re last. It was a tough pill to swallow. I’m trying to be positive and optimistic, but it’s definitely not fun being evicted. At the end of the day, it is a game, and you have to put all those differences aside.

Who/what do you think was most responsible for your eviction, and why?
It comes back to Maddy. Last week, we as a group had a prime opportunity to get rid of a strong competitor like Jared. She had him on a pedestal, where even allies of Jared were looking to get him out. She took a huge turn and decided it would be Loveita who’d get back-doored. It’s a huge shame. After Sharry, Christine and Loveita walked out of there, I knew the people I was close with… I got worried that I’d be next going out the door.

What was the hardest thing to deal with in the BBCAN house?
Just being on Big Brother’s time, Big Brother’s schedule. I’m a young adult, I like to do things as I please. But Big Brother gets the roosters going, gets you up early.

Any predictions on what’s going to happen and who’s going to take it all?
It’s a tough one. It’s pretty early to tell. I personally think Jared is a favourite in this house, which is why I gunned for him. He has a strong core around him, and people are loyal to him. He has a lot of sway, and in competitions he’s a physical beast. Socially, he’s a well-liked guy. I don’t know who’s going to step into my shoes and take a swing at him.

Who would you be shocked to see at the very end?
I would be shocked to see Cassandra and Nikki at the very end. That would be the biggest underdog story of Big Brother Canada.
