WATCH: Mitchell Moffit was evicted from the 'Big Brother Canada' house by a vote of 5-3 – Apr 8, 2016

At the end of his run, Mitch of Guelph, Ont., tried his hardest to stay in the Big Brother Canada house. Despite a last-minute acerbic speech at the POV ceremony that threatened to blow up people’s games, Mitch just couldn’t sway the house and he ended up being evicted by a vote of 5-3.

One thing’s for sure: there is no shortage of drama in the BBCAN house. Global News spoke with Mitch about his eviction, what destroyed his game, and who he thinks is going to take it all.

Global News: How shocked are you to be evicted?
Mitchell Moffit: Not entirely shocked, but a little disappointed knowing that no one really heeded my words. They weren’t willing to do what needed to be done, at least from my perspective. I might have gotten a tie, but I would have been even more shocked if Raul saved me. You never give up hope, though, and I was playing until the end.

What are your thoughts on being evicted?
The whole week was interesting. The eviction is part of the experience, so I was very ready. It was frustrating, because I was trying really hard to show how the threesome was making deals with the entire house. They were smart in the way they did it, those three. They made bonds with people that made it look like they were less of a trio and more individual.

Do you think anyone will regret not keeping you in the house?
There is someone, but it entirely depends on who wins the next HOH. Everyone thinks they’re with the trio, but if one of them wins HOH, they’ll soon find out who that “someone” is. They’ll soon find out who was most lied to. I personally think it’s the brothers, but we’ll see. I hope they’ve heard my words. Everyone feels like they’re really close to them. Some people might say, “Well, Mitch, you were close with them, too,” but to that I say I tried to get Kelsey out weeks ago, and I would have tried to do that again.

Do you think you could have gone all the way?
I think so. It’s so hard to know in this game because of the twists. Nothing is guaranteed. I had set myself up well when I got rid of Kelsey and integrated myself between Raul and Jared, and also gotten Cassandra out of the picture. The three of us would have been a target, but I would have been the least threatening of the trio, so I was in a good place. I had relationships all around the house on a personal level and a game level, so had the twist not happened, I was set up.

If you weren’t put up against Joel, would that be a relationship that you would have wanted to keep?
If I could have. I tried, at one point, to integrate the Joel group and the power trio. It didn’t work. Joel’s relationship to me was strange. We were very close and similar motives at the beginning, but then in the last three rounds, we voted differently. I didn’t have as much influence over him as I thought.

Who/what do you think was most responsible for your eviction, and why?
Definitely the information provided by Loveita. [Laughs] OK, no, I don’t blame Loveita entirely. She revealed parts of my game, but that could have happened in the house too. But that definitely unravelled my game, when Kelsey relayed that information to Raul and Jared. It destroyed their trust in me and they saw me as a threat.

What was the hardest thing to deal with in the BBCAN house?
Not everyone plays the same way as me, but a lot of my decisions were based on the evidence that was there, the moves people made, not just what people say. My game was always trying to predict what someone’s best move was. A lot of people play off gut instinct, which was frustrating to me as a player.

Any regrets?
No regrets at all. Of course I could have played differently, but I don’t think I would have if I went back in. The experience was amazing and I’m so happy that I got to be a part of it.

Any predictions on what’s going to happen and who’s going to take it all?
If Tim wants to take it, he can take it. It’s that question of whether or not he wants. He’s smart enough to do it, and he has the capacity to manipulate others, but he’s scared to do it.

Someone from the threesome will go very far, too. Raul has the best odds of making it far. I’m willing to vote for anyone who’s played the best game, so may the best man or woman win!
