EDMONTON – NAIT has dedicated this week to express the importance of making sure its LGBTQ community feels safe and included.
The school is holding events throughout the week to mark Pride Week. Wednesday morning’s Pride Walk was the most visual event as staff and students walked around campus to show their support for the LGBTQ community.

“When we think of our values, inclusivity is right at the very top,” Nait President and CEO Dr. Glenn Feltham said. “This is an opportunity for us to celebrate inclusivity at NAIT and to make sure all students feel very very comfortable and safe.”
“It’s my first year at NAIT and I’m coming from a small town, so I love the atmosphere and I love the people around here,” Pride at NAIT president Brendan Roy said.
The week also included a panel discussion involving members of NAIT’s LGTBQ community who expressed the challenges and issues they face at the school.

“We’re all important. We should all feel comfortable, and really, it’s all about inclusivity and just how it is that we work together and and live together,” Feltham said.
NAIT’s Pride Week wraps up Friday with a workshop for students to learn about the issues facing their LGBTQ classmates.
