The nominees for the 88th Annual Academy Awards were announced Thursday morning at the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, Calif.
Oscar nominee announcers included actor John Krasinski, Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs, and filmmakers Guillermo del Toro and Ang Lee.
The Revenant received the most nominations, with 12; it’s nominated for Best Picture, Best Actor (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Best Supporting Actor (Tom Hardy). Mad Max: Fury Road also pulled in many nominations with 10, including Best Picture and Best Direction.
