TORONTO — Was there a Canadian love connection on the set of True Detective?
According to US Weekly, season 2 stars Rachel McAdams and Taylor Kitsch are dating.
“It hasn’t been long but it’s serious,” an unnamed source is quoted as saying.
The magazine backs up its claim by reporting that McAdams and Kitsch dined together at Osteria Mozza in West Hollywood early last month.
On the new season of True Detective, McAdams plays Det. Ani Bezzerides and Kitsch plays California Highway Patrol officer Paul Woodrugh.
McAdams, 36, was born in London, Ont. and has a home in Toronto. She previously had relationships with Ryan Gosling — her Canadian co-star in The Notebook — and with her Midnight in Paris co-star Michael Sheen.
Kitsch, a 34-year-old native of Kelowna, B.C. best known for starring in Friday Night Lights, recently ended his relationship with fitness instructor Jennifer Welch.
US Weekly said McAdams and Kitsch have been friends for years but “grew closer on set” of the HBO series and “they’re really into each other.”
There has been no comment from either star’s reps.
