A former professional athlete with the Canadian National Volleyball Team, Claire has a strong sports background which she brings to the Global News team.
Claire studied political science and international relations at the University of British Columbia before going on to earn a masters of management in business.
While attending UBC, Claire wrote for the Ubyssey and did colour commentary for the men’s volleyball games on CiTR 101.9, UBC’s radio station.
Claire found her passion in sports broadcasting when she was asked to join the Canadian Olympic Team at the London 2012 Games and interview Canadian athletes.

In 2014, she assisted the Canadian Olympic Committee and the CBC as a communications assistant at the Sochi Olympics. That fall, she joined Newcap Television in Lloydminster as a sports anchor and reporter.
She then went on to co-host City TV’s Dinner Television in Edmonton. She reported on various local events live from the field including politics, sports, arts and lifestyle related topics.
Claire volunteers her time with Sport Central, an organization which collects new and used sporting equipment for children in need.
