An officer pulled an Acura over on Jan. 9 at 4 p.m. on Highway 3 near Christina Lake after he clocked the vehicle going 130 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency issued the fine, alleging Universal Ostrich Farm failed to notify authorities about the presence of avian flu on the property.
“Apparently, neighbours had been calling bylaw saying something is not right over there,” Judanna Dawn with Angel’s Animal Rescue told Global News.
An investigation has been launched in a bench-clearing minor hockey fight in the Okanagan that allegedly had coaches scrapping on the ice.
‘This was an act by a person,’ Matt Affleck with the BC SPCA said. ‘Somebody did this to this dog… Somebody just tied it up and left it for dead.’
