Global News is projecting Chelsae Petrovic will win the Livingstone-Macleod seat for the UCP.
Livingstone-Macleod is a provincial riding located in southern Alberta. This riding is currently represented by United Conservative MLA Roger Reid who first took office in 2019.
Reid collected 17,644 votes, winning 70.64 per cent of the vote in the 2019 Alberta provincial election.
Reid is not seeking re-election, announcing as much one day after the United Conservative Party closed nominations for the riding. That announcement came seven months after Danielle Smith announced she would seek the nomination in the riding that included her home — High River, Alta. — and a week before the Brooks-Medicine Hat byelection that eventually went to the UCP leader.
UCP candidate Chelsae Petrovic has served as the mayor of Claresholm.
NDP candidate Kevin Van Tighem is the former superintendent of Banff National Park.
Since being created ahead of the 1997 election, Livingstone-Macleod has been represented by Progressive Conservative, Wildrose and UCP MLAs.
Voters will decide who will represent Livingstone-Macleod during the upcoming Alberta provincial election on May 29, 2023. Visit this page on election night for a complete breakdown of up-to-the-minute results.
