Calgary-North West is a provincial riding located in Calgary. This riding is currently represented by United Conservative MLA Sonya Savage who first took office in 2019.

Savage collected 13,565 votes, winning 56.67 per cent of the vote in the 2019 Alberta provincial election.

Savage, who served as minster of energy, environment — and briefly justice during a probe into Kaycee Madu’s conduct — announced she would not seek re-election on March 24.

A week later, Calgary-North East MLA Rajan Sawhney was announced as the UCP candidate for the riding across town. Sawhney previously said she would not seek re-election.

The riding has a history of voting conservative since it was created in 1979, but in 2016, then-Progressive Conservative MLA Sandra Jansen crossed the floor to sit with the Alberta NDP following an unsuccessful bid to become PC leader.

Voters will decide who will represent Calgary-North West during the upcoming Alberta provincial election on May 29, 2023. Visit this page on election night for a complete breakdown of up-to-the-minute results.
