Man suffering ‘blunt force trauma’ dead after ‘disturbance’ in Brampton, 1 in custody: police

Peel Regional Police say the homicide unit has been notified after a man suffering “blunt force trauma” injuries was pronounced dead in Brampton.

Police said they responded to a disturbance call at a rural property in the area of Wanless Drive and Winston Churchill at around 8:34 a.m. on Wednesday.

Duty Insp. Natalie Hiltz said a man was found inside of a residence suffering from “blunt force trauma.”

Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene, Hiltz said.

Another man was located outside of a residence, near the front of the home, and taken into police custody.

Hiltz said this appears to be an isolated incident and there are no other outstanding suspects.

The relationship between the two men is unknown at this time, she said.
