Emergency crews were at the scene of a fatal collision involving two vehicles just outside of Okotoks on Friday.
An EMS spokesperson told Global News paramedics responded to reports of a two-vehicle collision at around 8:50 a.m.
The collision happened south of the Okotoks turnoff on Highway 2. According to EMS, a van travelling north on the highway lost control, crossed the median and ended up in the southbound lane where it collided with an SUV.
Each vehicle had one person inside.

EMS did not confirm whether it was a head-on collision but said the impact was “significant.”
Both the adult female driver of the SUV and the adult male driver of the van were declared dead at the scene.
