Officers were called on Jan. 9 around 6 p.m. to a home in the 13500 block of 84 Avenue after reports came in of a deceased man inside.

RCMP found Chapman dead in the house. Investigators said Wednesday that Chapman was known to police, but had no history with law enforcement since 2020.

IHIT said the killing was not believed to be random, but that it did not appear to be connected to the ongoing Lower Mainland Gang Conflict.
