Global News is projecting Liberal incumbent Marc Serré getting re-elected in Nickel Belt.
The riding of Nickle Belt is located in northern Ontario. It includes part of the Territorial District of Nipissing, comprised of the Municipality of West Nipissing, and parts of Sudbury.
The riding, which has been represented since 1953, has flipped between the Liberals and the NDP.
In 2015, Serré defeated the NDP’s Claude Gravelle with 42.8 per cent of the vote. Serré won the seat again in 2019, with 39 per cent of the vote. NDP candidate Stef Paquette took just over 32 per cent of the vote.
In addition to his role as MP, Serré is also the parliamentary secretary to the minister of natural resources.
